Project Summary
The project will consist of reconstruction and resurfacing of Bloomingdale Road from Irving Park Road to Rohlwing Road (IL-53) . Reconstruction of Bloomingdale Road to an urban cross section will be from approximately Walnut Street to the Village limits west of Lombard Road which will consist of pavement widening, installation of curb and gutter, storm sewer improvements, culvert improvements and stamped asphalt cross walks. The remaining portions of Bloomingdale Road will be resurfaced. There will be a portion of Bloomingdale Road (maintained by Addison Township) that will remain a rural cross section with roadside ditches near the bridge over I-290.
During construction, Bloomingdale will be closed to eastbound traffic. One-way westbound traffic will be maintained from Irving Park Road to Rohlwing Road (IL-53).
This project was made possible by the Village receiving up to 70% funding through the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Act (CRRSAA). Since the funding is provided through the state of Illinois, the project was let through IDOT’s system and awarded to R.W. Dunteman Company. IDOT will additionally provide contract management for the duration of the project, while Robinson Engineering, Ltd. will provide construction engineering services.
