Itasca Public Works will begin fire hydrant flushing this Tuesday August 6. The entire program should take 3-4 weeks to complete. Call 630-773-2455 if there are any questions.
A discoloration of the homeowner’s water might occur; the problem should only persist for a short time. If discoloration of water does occur run the cold water only by the sink nearest to your water meter if possible.
The hydrants are flushed each year to help improve the water quality and to inspect/maintain the proper operation of each hydrant.
