[ARCHIVED] Halloween Hours & Safety Tips

Safety is a priority, so the Village recommends the following guidelines to ensure a spooktacular and safe Halloween for all:

For Trick-or-Treaters:

๐ŸŽƒ Keep those hands clean: Before and after trick-or-treating, wash your hands, and bring hand sanitizer for use during the outing.

๐ŸŽƒ Healthy habits: Stay home if you’re feeling under the weather to protect yourself and others. • Shining bright: Make costumes and treat bags stand out with reflective tape or stickers and opt for light colors if possible.

๐ŸŽƒ Stay connected and vigilant: Carry a cell phone or partner up with someone who has one for easy communication.

๐ŸŽƒ Plan your path: Choose a safe route, avoiding alleys, unlit areas, and backyards.

๐ŸŽƒ Be cautious of vehicles turning or backing up as you navigate the streets. Always remember to establish eye contact with drivers before crossing in front of them.

For Homeowners:

๐Ÿ‘ป Eerie etiquette: If participating in trick-or-treating, illuminate your home by turning ON the front porch/outdoor lights. Conversely, turn OFF lights if you won’t be handing out candy.

๐Ÿ‘ป Health first: Refrain from handing out treats if you feel unwell.

๐Ÿ‘ป Clear the way: Remove any objects that could cause trips or slips from walkways and patios.
