The Village of Itasca is featured in Chicago Magazine’s “Best Places to Live” June/July 2022. Itasca was among seven communities selected for the publication’s “Where to Buy Now” feature article.
“Those of us who live here know how truly special Itasca is,” said Mayor Jeff Pruyn. “To have Chicago Magazine recognize our community is a testament to every volunteer, public employee and community leader who works to make Itasca a great place to live.”
In selecting Itasca as a top community value, author Carissa Crawford noted the Village’s new downtown plan, along with “its scenic riverwalk, which connects the downtown to a municipal complex, water park, library, and nature center.”
The article goes on to tout Itasca’s central location, low crime rate, and quality schools as reasons families choose Itasca. It further elaborates on Itasca’s ideal location pointing out the village’s proximity to O’Hare and Woodfield Mall, as well as its direct access to three interstates and Metra.
Compared to other communities close to the airport, Chicago Magazine found Itasca to be a good value for the money, noting that the median sale price of a home is $375,000.
“Even with housing prices increasing 34% in the past five years,” added Pruyn, “Itasca continues to be a smart choice for home buyers who value small town living with easy access to big city amenities.”
