This letter is to update the tentative schedule listed in our letter of February 8, 2022, regarding upcoming work along Walnut Street. The sequence of work has been revised due to delayed permitting review of work in METRA property. 

To keep the water main work on schedule a one-day partial closure of the intersection of Orchard Street and Walnut Street will be required. On Monday, March 14, 2022 from 6:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. the Orchard Street & Walnut Street intersection will be closed to through traffic.  Northbound traffic on Walnut Street will be detoured to Elm Street at Orchard Street and southbound traffic on Walnut Street will be detoured at Center Street to Catalpa Avenue. Local southbound traffic to businesses on Walnut Street, south of Center Street will be maintained.

  • Intersection of Orchard Street and Elm Street (Mar. 14^th) - (1 day intersection Closure)
  • Line Street to Orchard St. (Mar. 17^th thru Apr. 14^th) – AUGER - (South Bound Walnut Street Closed at Orchard)

• Storm Sewer – Walnut Street
  • Orchard St. to Center St. (Mar. 7th thru Mar. 16^th) - (2-way traffic maintained with flaggers)
  • W. Center Street (Walnut Street to Maple Street (Mar. 14^th thru Mar. 16^th) - (2-way traffic maintained with flaggers)
  • Along RR Tracks (Apr. 4^th thru Apr. 18^th) - AUGER - (South Bound Walnut Street Closed at Orchard)
  • RR Tracks to Orchard St. (Apr. 18^th thru Apr. 27^th) - (South Bound Walnut Street Closed at Orchard)
• Intersection Grading/Curb/Patching
  • Irving Park Rd. to Orchard St. (Apr. 28^th thru May 6^th)
  • Orchard St. to Center St. (May 21^st thru Jun 4^th)
