Posted on: July 9, 2021

[ARCHIVED] Haymarket Public Hearing Scheduled for Wednesday, July 14, 2021

Now that testimony from the petitioner and interested parties has finished, the hearing will transition to the Public Questioning phase, starting Wednesday, July 14, 2021. As a reminder, a public question should reference a specific testimony, statement, or document offered during the course of the application and/or public hearing process. Individuals should be prepared to cite the specific document that they are using at the beginning of their question, which includes the document name and page number. Example: Village Exhibit 550, page 5.  A link to all of the submitted exhibits, reports, and transcripts can be found on the Village’s website here. Any individual who would like to express an opinion or make general statements to the Plan Commission regarding witness statements, documents, or the matter in general, will need to wait until the Public Comment phase of the hearing to provide their statements.

To ensure the public has an opportunity to question each expert, witnesses have been scheduled to appear before the Plan Commission on the following dates (which are subject to change):

  • July 14, 2021 - Economic Impact, Appraisal, Planning, and Traffic (Gruen, Ketchum, Aboona, Polach and Kisiel)
  • July 28, 2021 - School District and Haymarket Operations & Need (Benes, Lustig)
  • August 4, 2021 - EMS and Fire (Burke, Dominick, Moeller)
  • August 11, 2021 - EMS (O'Connor)

Members of the public who do not intend to ask a question at the hearing, are encouraged to watch the hearing live through the Village’s YouTube channel. A direct link to the July 14, 2021 hearing can be found here

Those who would like to ask a question at the hearing, are encouraged to sign-up in advance and will be given priority to ask questions at the appropriate time. Pre-registration for public questioning should be completed no later than the Sunday before the meeting you wish to participate at, and may be completed here. If you are unable to pre-register, you will still have an opportunity to sign-up onsite in the gymnasium.
