Construction Update – 2021 Street Resurfacing Program – Week of June 28, 2021

Construction of the 2021 Street Resurfacing Program continues. The contractor has completed the installation of the curb and gutter on Bonnie Brae, Shiller St, Maple Ave, Cherry St. and Lombard Road.

The contractor has also begun patching between the new curb and existing pavement as well as at various locations through the Village where surface patching was required. This process was slightly delayed due to the weather last week and will continue this upcoming week.

Street grinding, initially schedule for late last week, was delayed due to the weather.  This process is tentatively scheduled for later this week pending weather. Based on the forecast and the need to complete the patching between the new curb and existing roadway, grinding of the roadways may not start until after the 4th of July weekend.

Parking along George Street will continue to be prohibited during this time period.  Please note the Itasca Police Department has been notified that overnight parking will be allowed on the side streets from George Street during this period.

Temporary lane closures and delays may be experienced; however, they will only last for a short period of time during the construction operations. We ask for your full understanding and cooperation during construction.
