Itasca Police now accepting Patrol Officer Applications

Application packets will be accepted in person until 11 am on Thursday, August 10, 2017 or must be postmarked by this date. The Itasca Police Department written examination will be held on August 26, 9am at Lake Park East High School.

Return packets in person at the IPD Records Department Monday – Friday from 8:00am to 4:00pm

Residue on Cars

Itasca residents and visitors might notice a strange residue on their car windshields and frames. The substance is called honeydew and is caused by the Lecanium Scale Insect. Honeydew is is not harmful. The residue is not caused by jet fuel from planes.

MADIGAN ANNOUNCES $5 MILLION SETTLEMENT WITH WESTERN UNION

Attorney General Lisa Madigan recently announced a $5 million settlement with The Western Union Company (Western Union) over a multistate investigation into its wire transfer service that led consumers across the country to wire money to con artists.

In addition to this settlement, Western Union previously settled claims related to fraud-induced transfers with the Federal Trade Commission and U.S. Department of Justice.
