Itasca Metra Station Platform Work Begins April 4

Metra will begin an 11-week project to rehabilitate the platforms at the Itasca train station on the Milwaukee District West Line. The project is scheduled to start Saturday April 4.

Metra passengers are advised that work will be phased so that at least one half of each platform will be available to passengers throughout the project.

Yard Waste Collection

The Village is postponing yard waste collection as well as bulk item pick up until further notice. Regular rubbish and recycling collection will continue as scheduled.

Please Do Not Flush Disinfecting Wipes or Paper Towels Down Toilet

While the Centers for Disease Control recommends to clean surfaces with disinfecting wipes to reduce the spread of COVID-19, it is important to discard those items in the trash, not the toilet.

Flushing wipes, paper towels and similar products down toilets will clog sewers and cause backups and overflows at wastewater treatment facilities, creating an additional public health risk in the midst of the coronavirus pandemic.

Nicor Gas System Improvement Initiative

Nicor Gas will be replacing their old steel mains and services with high strength plastic. The Village is split into two projects, North and South of the railroad track tracks. The South side is to begin on Sept. 9 and take 16-18 weeks to complete.

Nicor has notified the impacted customers/residents in the South portion of the project by mail.
