[ARCHIVED] Construction Update – 2023 Roadway & Infrastructure Improvements – Phase 2 - Week of Nov 20, 2023

During the week of November 20, 2023, the Contractor will be performing various restoration and clean up items on:

  • W. Center Street (N. Maple Street to Catalpa Avenue)
  • Catalpa Avenue (Railroad Tracks to W. Center Street)
  • W. Division Street (N. Walnut Street to N. Oak Street)
  • N. Oak Street (W. Center Street to W. North Street)
  • N. Maple Street (W. Center Street to W. North Street)
  • N. Elm Street (Bryn Mawr Avenue to E. North Street)
  • E. North Street (N. Elm Street to N. Rush Street)
  • N. Linden Street (E. Division Street to E. North Street

2023 Roadway Resurfacing Project

Crack sealing has been completed.  During the week of November 20, 2023, the Contractor may be performing various punch list, restoration and clean up items throughout the project sites.

The Contractor is continuing to address the prime coat tracking. If you have any issues regarding prime coat on your driveway, please notify Public Works.

Devon/Park/Pierce Intersection Improvements

Pending weather and other unexpected delays, this week, the Contractor’s electrical subcontractor (Elmund & Nelson) will continue installing the temporary signals with the transfer to the temporary signals scheduled for November 30th.

Electrical relocations necessary to decommission the exiting traffic signal mast arms along with the electrical relocations necessary for the proposed roadway curb improvements will follow. The work related to the temporary signals and new electrical installation and new signals is anticipated to continue throughout the winter months, pending weather.  The contractor will utilize daily lane closures and the roadway will be open to full traffic at the end of each work day. Progress of this work will be weather dependent. 

During this work expect the following:

  • Traffic Delays
  • Heavy Construction Equipment, material deliveries, material storage in parkways and construction noise will be present from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM daily and at times until dusk.
  • The construction will create dust and debris. The Contractor will work to minimize the impacts.
  • Temporary truck staging is expected on roadways and adjacent streets.
  • Please Use CAUTION in around the construction site.
  • The schedule is weather dependent.
