Construction Update – 2021 Street Resurfacing Program - Week of July 5

Construction of the 2021 Street Resurfacing Program continues. This past week, the contractor has completed the street surface grinding and pavement patching along George Street, Shiller Street, Bonnie Brae, Maple Avenue, Cherry Street and Lombard Road.

The contractor has also placed the leveling binder course on those same streets. Please note a portion of Maple Avenue was not completed near Grove Street, as a sink hole was discovered. Public Works plated the hole and will repair the issue this coming week. This week, weather pending, structure adjustments will be performed along with the installation of longitudinal joint sealant, which is done in preparation of final surface course placement.

Final surface course placement is scheduled for the week of July 12th. Parking along these streets is prohibited during working hours.  Please note the Itasca Police Department has been notified that overnight parking will be allowed on the side streets from George Street during this period.

Temporary lane closures and delays may be experienced; however, they will only last for a short period of time during the construction operations.

We ask for your full understanding and cooperation during construction.
