Unemployment Insurance Fraud/Identity Theft.

Itasca Police Patch 2019

The Itasca Police Department and The Illinois Department of Employment Services (IDES) need your help to combat Unemployment Insurance (UI) Fraud/Identity Theft.

Over the past several months the Itasca Police Department and surrounding Agencies have had numerous reports of IL Department of Employment service (IDES) unemployment scam letters. Residents have received letters in the mail claiming unemployment benefits have been approved though they have not applied for unemployment. As of this time no financial loss has been reported. If you receive one of these letters please contact the IDES Fraud and ID theft department at the attached link or call the Attorney General ID theft hotline at 1-866-999-5630. Victims who do experience financial loss or need to speak with an officer can call the IPD for further assistance.
