Itasca Cancels Community Events Through July 2020

The Village of Itasca regrets to announce the cancellation of all village-sponsored community events with more than 50 people through July 31, 2020.

After reviewing the Restore Illinois Plan released by Governor Pritzker on May 5, 2020, it is clear that our region will not be permitted to hold gatherings of more than 50 people for several more weeks, if not several months. Restore Illinois does not permit community gatherings until Phase 5. To review the Restore Illinois Plan, visit

Cancelled events include:

  • Subaru Car Show
  • Memorial Day Parade (in partnership with Itasca Park District)
  • The Scottish Festival and Highland Games (hosted by Chicago Scots)
  • Itasca Summer Concert Series (in partnership with Itasca Park District)
  • 4th of July Celebration (in partnership with Hamilton Lakes Business Park)
  • Itascafest (hosted by Itasca Lions)
  • Itasca Community Garage Sale (hosted by the Itasca Park District)
  • Fishing with the Cops (in partnership with Itasca Police Department)
  • Ice Cream in the Park (In partnership with Itasca Fire District, Police Department and Park District)
  • National Night Out, which is traditionally held in August, has been rescheduled nationally to October 6, 2020.

The health and safety of our residents is our first priority. The Village will continue to evaluate guidance published by the State of Illinois and DuPage County Health Department with the hope of resuming community events as soon as it is deemed safe to do so.

Working with our community partners, the Village is exploring new ways to keep Itasca connected. Stay tuned for opportunities to participate in socially distanced celebrations and events, which will be posted on the Village’s website throughout the summer.
