Commercial Vehicle Ordinance
The Village of Itasca has adopted an amendment to the Itasca Zoning Ordinance to regulate the parking of commercial vehicles in residential neighborhoods. Vehicles Limited by the Ordinance
With the exception of pickup trucks, 4-wheel passenger vans, and 4-wheel cargo vans, the commercial vehicle ordinance would prohibit the parking of commercial vehicles with a license plate registration in excess of a class B plate (8,000 pounds gross vehicle weight) on a residential lot outside of a completely enclosed garage.
Prohibited Vehicles
The following may not be parked outside of a completely enclosed garage or structure on a residential lot:
- Buses
- Construction equipment
- Dump trucks
- Farm implements
- Semi-tractors
- Step-vans
- Tractors
- Two trucks
2-Vehicle Limitation
All other commercial vehicles not prohibited above would be limited to 2 outside of an enclosed structure or garage. This would include, regardless of weight:
- Pickup trucks
- Four-wheel vans
- Cargo vans
- Commercially lettered passenger vehicles
Trailers
Trailers used in connection with boats, personal watercraft are permitted May 1st to October 1st. Snowmobile trailers are permitted November 1st to May1st. All such trailers may be parked outside of a completely enclosed garage (on improved or hard surfaces) or structure during their respective seasons.
All other trailers, both open and closed, commercial or otherwise, must be stored within a completely enclosed garage or structure within residential districts.
