Contractor Registration

Contractors performing work in the Village of Itasca must register with the Village prior to performing any permitted work. A building permit will not be issued until all contractors performing work on the project are registered and bonded. This requirement is for the protection of all homeowners in the Village so that work will be performed in compliance with all Village Codes and Ordinances. In addition to registering with the Village, the following contractor licenses and bonds are required:

A Certificate of Insurance (COI) is required and must list the Village of Itasca as a certificate holder.

  • Roofing Contractor - Must provide a state roofing license
  • Electrical Contractor - Must provide a state electrical license and post $5,000 Code Compliance Bond
  • Plumbing Contractor - Must provide a state plumbing license (055 and 058), if applying for a specific permit you must also provide a letter of intent written on the licensed plumber of record's business stationary and include the license holder's signature. If the license holder is incorporated, the license holder's corporate seal is also required. If the license holder is not incorporated, the letter must be notarized. A copy of the signed proposal must also be submitted prior to release of a permit.
  • General Contractor – Must provide a $10,000 Code Compliance Bond

Contractors required to register with the Village may obtain the form here and submit it with all licensing and bonding requirements and the applicable registration fee to the Community Development Department located in the Itasca Village Hall.
