March 30, DuPage County released a dashboard that provides information on the total number of people in DuPage County, who have tested positive for COVID-19.  The dashboard includes a map, which shows the distribution of reported cases by municipality and will be updated by the county at 4:00 p.m. daily.

While the indicates that the Village of Itasca currently has 2 confirmed cases of COVID-19, DuPage County has advised that the number of cases is likely exponentially higher due to community-wide spread of the disease coupled with limited testing and reporting capabilities. DuPage County Health Department is not releasing the exact location of cases to protect patient privacy.

The news may cause some anxiety for some residents. Your health and safety continues to be out top priority.  Please be assured that the Village is continuously monitoring and implementing CDC recommendations in order to minimize the risk of community spread.

The Illinois Department of Health advises that all residents of Northern Illinois should assume that every person they come in contact with may have been exposed to COVID-19. Therefore, all residents should comply with the Stay-At-Home Order, continue to practice recommended social distancing and observe hygiene guidelines.
